Job Description:

The Cognos Specialist/Technical Lead is an integral part of the Citi Business Intelligence Team.  This individual will be designing and developing best practice solutions utilizing Impromptu, Cognos ReportNet, PPES and Cognos 8. Ability to coordinate with onshore/offshore contractors on a project, understand requirements, design and deliver Cognos solutions in addition to development is expected out of this position. This individual will lead multiple high profile projects within the Cognos space. As part of a team of Cognos Technical leads, this individual will participate and be responsible for analysis, design and delivery of Cognos reports/cubes. This position will interface with multiple levels of customers from end users to executive management. The Cognos Specialist/Technical Lead is responsible for report/cube creation for data warehouse users.

The ideal candidate for this position must have demonstrated broad technical knowledge, management discipline, strong leadership and organization skills, creativity and technical vision in developing and implementing reporting applications.

Successful candidate will be results oriented and works well in a fast paced, highly collaborative team environment. Will be able to multi-task and reprioritize tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent work experience in Information Technology / Computer Science or an associated field of study.

·         7 years of Cognos Development experience

·         Candidate must have the following Cognos skill requirements:

§         5-7 years of experience in BI design, development and testing

§         4 years of strong development experience with Impromptu, IWR, PowerPlay Transformer

§         2 years of Report Net experience.

·         Cognos 8 experience is highly desirable

·         Candidates must have 5 years experience with relational databases and DataMarts, preferably Oracle, DB2, Teradata

·         The incumbent should possess in-depth knowledge of the financial services businesses. 

·         3 years experience in an operational support role is required

·         Candidates should also have the ability to individually drive a project, estimate timelines and work to meet project commitments as part of a Matrixed DW team.

·         Strong Analytical skills required.

·         Excellent time management, project management and communication skills required
