The Director, Human Resources position at Invensys Process Systems is a member of the IPS HR leadership team and participates as a member of a business function or regional leadership team.
The Human Resources Director role:
•Participates in establishing strategic H.R. directions, ensuring the strategies support the overall business plan. Provides input on major strategic directions. Assists in developing plans and programs that support the overall strategy and the specific H.R. direction. Provides direction and guidance to local H.R. managers in implementing H.R. strategies.
•Plans and manages the delivery of the full spectrum of H.R. services
•Recommends, proposes and implements policies, procedures and programs. Manage the implementation of policies, procedures or programs to prescribed standards.
•Acts as a business partner to working groups or segments of large businesses, managers and employees by providing advice and counsel on H.R. programs and practices in support of the objectives of the business.
•Evaluates and diagnoses specific and systematic issues that impact organizational effectiveness. Proposes and implements strategies to resolving issues. Utilizes and deploys various H.R. expertise to resolve specific issues or business requirements.
•Operationalizes human capital initiatives, quantifies results, and monitors and measures effectiveness.
Other Key Responsibilities:
•Strategic Planning: Understands the industry, business and the business segment priorities. Represents the human capital perspective during the strategic business planning process and establishes strategic business plans and long-range goals. Conducts cost benefit analyses for all potential approaches and solutions. Identifies opportunities to gain competitive advantage. Evaluates impact of HR strategies and initiatives on business objectives.
•Data and Trend Analysis: Understands the business metrics used to measure the business segment’s performance. Uses data to identify people trends, patterns, issues and opportunities that impact the business. Gathers and analyzes data to identify root causes of issues and trends. Working with HRMS support team, develops and analyzes comprehensive suite of reports used to manage human capital’s impact on the business and makes appropriate decisions as a result. Conducts in-depth supply and demand analyses of the current and future people and competency needs of the organization and develops strategies and plans to meet those needs.
•Change Management: Facilitates a shared vision and urgency for changes by clarifying how the changes will help the organization meet business goals and by articulating the benefits of change. Motivates and involves stakeholders to help implement and support change and develops strategies to deal with resistance to change. Develops and executes change management plans, including communication strategies, in support of business change. Applies systematic thinking to multiple change initiatives. Monitors and measures progress against the change continuum.
Qualifications:
•At least 10 years combined experience in human resources, business and/or consulting. Global human capital experience is highly preferred.
•Strong business and financial acumen, with experience in measurement, data analysis and interpretation.
•Experience in HR centers of expertise (compensation, employee relations, recruitment) preferred and/or full responsibility for all aspects of HR as a generalist.
•BA/BS degree in Human Resources, business or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
•Strong history of quickly building relationships, gaining credibility and partnering with business leaders and human capital peers.
