The Women’s Museum: An Institute for the Future is once again preparing for the State Fair of Texas!  During the State Fair, September 28 – October 21, The Women’s Museum will be open to the public, and we expect thousands of people to visit.  Museum hours will be EVERY DAY from 10am to 7pm. There will be two shifts each day. Both shifts will require a minimum of 20-25 volunteers.  Volunteers will be needed throughout the building, including the front desk, the Museum Store, in the first and second floor exhibits and on the third floor for the special exhibit Star-Struck: Hollywood Costumes and Designers from 1932-2006.  In addition to the above mentioned areas, there will be several new volunteer placements for the Girls’ State Fair activities! Volunteers are vital to the daily operations of The Women’s Museum.            STATE FAIR VOLUNTEER BENEFITS:v          Free Parking and Admission to the State Fair (on the day you volunteer – pending Dart light rail/parking accommodations).v        Discount in the Museum Store.v        Each volunteer shift earns you credits towards a membership!v        Opportunities to meet new people and have a good time!            Share this wonderful opportunity with your family and friends!  Recruit 5 or more volunteers from your company, organization, Red Hat Ladies, church or other group!  As the recruiter, you will receive a special gift and we’ll give you and your company special mention in our volunteer newsletter!  Please fill out the enclosed commitment calendar and return it at your earliest convenience.  A training session will be held in September.  If you have any questions or need additional information please call (214) 915-0874 or email lisa.ream@thewomensmuseum.org.
