Summary:

Under general supervision, proactively and independently fulfill sales objectives of assigned territory to prospect, educate, sell, close and onboard new clients within specified pricing, risk and profit guidelines for HR consulting, payroll, benefits and other products and services. Manage assigned territory as independent entrepreneurial enterprise specializing in gevity products and services that streamline HR administration, optimize HR processes, and maximize people and profit.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify territory and prospects, generate leads, contact prospects, develop requests for proposal, launch and execute marketing campaigns, coordinate and organize networking events and participate in all aspects of the sales process.
  • Within leadership guidelines, establish prospect calling plans to identify and contact prospective clients, establish initial contacts and appointments, sell products and services and transform prospects into new clients. Communicate the three components of the Gevity solution (workforce alignment, administrative relief, and business protection). Lead prospects through sequential stages of awareness, education, interest, and closure
  • With leadership guidance, orchestrate demand generation activities by calling upon the integrated marketing group and triggering the activation of necessary resources and the development of marketing plans.
  • Attend and arrange networking events within assigned territory. Introduce Gevity and its products and services within a business framework to establish contacts, value and demand within the territory.
  • Within leadership guidelines, initiate a professional sales dialogue with prospects designed to identify prospect needs, inform prospect of products and services and establish a common basis to establish a client relationship. Gather and provide technical and underwriting data required for RFP review and approvals. Under general supervision, negotiate terms, conditions and pricing relative to new client contracts and commitments.
  • Maintain and update data base information and call programs to ensure documentation and support for planning and evaluation purposes. Fulfill ongoing company education and training programs that focus on sales skills, products and services, automated systems and other tools and capabilities available to clients. Assist with the training of new sales staff and other colleagues as required.
  • Participate in special research and development groups with other colleagues in support of client assessment, program design, and operating programs.
  • Fulfill Gevity ethics, business practices, reporting, and legal compliance norms through ongoing oversight of assigned colleagues and related sales, client service, and other business actions.

Contacts:

External: Directly communicate with clients, prospects, and external private and public organizations/persons to establish effective networks, new clients and referral basis and to represent Gevity.

  • Internal: Contact within assigned location/region, underwriting, risk management, shared services and other Gevity departments to provide and obtain client data, learn and apply data base and RFP knowledge and skills, and sell deliverable products and services.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Experience:

 

  • Minimum five years proven track record employing consultative selling to prospects through networking, referrals, prospecting and direct selling
  • Knowledge and skills related to client business needs, financial principles, business acumen and sales strategies and solutions
  • Significant and effective business and personal communication skills to understand, communicate and demonstrate HR, payroll, benefits and HRMS systems
  • Experience using sales contact management systems (Salesforce.com or equivalent)
  • Successful experience selling to owners and to individuals in small and mid size businesses desired
  • Preference to local candidates with proven local market experience
  • Experience working an assigned territory a plus
  • Experience in Human Resources outsourcing and consulting desirable
  • Understanding of the Human Resources needs of small businesses is desirable
  • Undergraduate degree is required. MBA is a plus.
